The HEWN Board
A single, refined form — a generous board for carving and serving, hand-hewn from solid Australian hardwood, finished with a brass edge line and four solid brass feet.
A board built to be used and to be seen. There's room for everyday chopping, for carving a roast, for laying out cheese and charcuterie — and weight enough to stay put while you work. Raised on its brass feet, it sits level on the bench and earns its place on the table, or left out on display between meals.
The brass inlay
A line of solid brass is inlaid along each of the board's two long sides, set flush into the timber and finished with a small detail at the corners. The same brass turns up underneath, in four turned feet that raise the board just off the bench.
The timber
Each board is made from seasoned Australian hardwood — Spotted Gum, Blackbutt, Tasmanian Oak or Tasmanian Blackwood — chosen for grain, density and quiet character. No two are identical; the grain decides, and we follow.
Care
Hand-wash and towel-dry, and give it a wipe of board conditioner every so often to keep the timber sealed and looking its best. A pot of board conditioner and a care card are included to get you started.
